Built around an original 17th century Dutch Fort, accented with masses of bougainvillea, oleander, hibiscus, and swaying palm trees, these villas offer superb views of Peter Island, St. John, and many other islands. 3-4 Bedroom Villa: This large tropical home located on the beach, beautifully appointed, consists of a central hallway (Art Gallery), large living room/library, kitchen, four air-conditioned bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a large wrap-around wooden porch. The garden room leads to the pool and private side gardens. People, who frequently visit Tortola, comment that it is the nicest beachfront home that Tortola has to offer.Two Bedroom Villa: This lovely seaside villa, with superb views, has a large living room, kitchen, two air-conditioned bedrooms, two bathrooms, three patios, and gardens.
One Bedroom Villas: These unique seaside villas consist of a private beachfront patio, fully equipped kitchen and living-room, with ceiling fan, air-conditioned bedroom and bathroom, which creates an appealing relaxed environment. The glass screened doors, exposing fantastic views of the Caribbean, extends on to it's own private sun patio, with lounge chairs.
One Bedroom Poolside Villa: Fully air-conditioned, large one bedroom courtyard house, is self-standing. It's large wrap-around wooden porch, with a corner view of the Caribbean, is situated next to the pool. This unique villa is shingled in cedar with high ceilings, a very large living room (excellent for additional persons), kitchen, separate bedroom and bathroom.
Penthouse Villas: State of the art spacious penthouse villas, with beamed cathedral ceilings, highly designed interiors, provides you with spectacular panoramic views of the Caribbean, from your private balcony. There are six one bedroom, and one two bedroom penthouse villas. They consist of a fully equipped kitchen, living room, and separate air-conditioned bedrooms and bathrooms.
Frequently Asked QuestionsHow do you get to Tortola, B.V.I.?
From St.Thomas, USVI (STT) - 45 minute ferry ride to Tortola's West End ferry dock. 5-minute taxi ride to the resort ($3/person). From San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) - It is half-hour flight to Beef Island Airport (EIS), Tortola. 40 minutes taxi to the resort ($12/person). Passports: US & Canadian citizens need proof of citizenship (passport, birth certificate, or voter's registration with photo I.D.) Currency is US ($). Electrical Current is 110 volt.Where are you located?
We are on the South/West part of Tortola, directly on the Caribbean Sea. Our small private sandy beach is great for swimming, snorkeling and shelling. The water is safe for swimming because on the south shore, undertows and rip tides do not encumber us.Is Fort Recovery a good place for a honeymoon?

Our bright reception area with a covered verandah enables you to relax and enjoy our daily continental breakfast from 7am to 11am. The gourmet chef has one of the best menus on the island with cuisine ranging from chicken, steak, seafood, vegetarian food, and Creole specialties. A waiter, from set up to clean up, elegantly serves dinner, to the privacy of your villa. A supermarket is a six-minute walk from the property.What kind of water sports activities is available on Tortola?
With each seven night's stay, Fort Recovery guests receive a half-day snorkeling trip. You can arrange with our on site captain for extra trips. There are also scuba dive shops, sailing vessel day-charters, sport fishing boats, windsurfing, kayaks, and parasailing on the island, otherwise you can go swimming in our freshwater swimming pool.How do we arrange a car rental?
The airport does not have any car rentals. If you pre-arrange a vehicle rental with us, either by package or otherwise, the vehicle can be at Fort Recovery for your arrival. The car rental agency will then come to Fort Recovery to do the paperwork. Two hours prior to departure a taxi will pick you up and drive you the airport ($30/couple).
